Family Camp

First Family Camp is an event designed to minister to the needs of all of our families including those with younger children. There is not much in the way of a camp experience for younger children, so we have decided to create our own. Children of all ages are welcome. In our family camp we address the two main obstacles keeping our younger kids from experiencing summer camp. We have kept this camp short, just an overnight stay. Most young kids can’t handle a whole week away from home. Secondly, we don’t take them away from Mommy & Daddy. Mom or Dad are asked to accompany your children to camp.

But we don’t just ask parents to attend camp merely as chaperones. We believe that the primary discipleship of children is done by the parents. The vision for the Family Ministry of FBC Gadsden is to Encourage, Equip and Enable our parents to become the Primary Disciplers of their Children. At the First Family Camp we hope to provide opportunity to “enable” you and help “equip” you as disciplers.  For more on our Family Ministry vision visit the Family Resource Page here on our website.

About the Camp

At First Family Camp you’ll enjoy tons of fun and edifying experiences: swimming, boating, camp fire, Bible stories, worship, and free time to hang with family or enjoy the campground.

Orientation is Friday at 4:00pm in the Johnson Center. However, if you want to show up early and swim etc, check in at the office. At orientation you will hear camp rules and a few instructions from Woodie Turner about First Family Camp. You’ll also receive your camp guide booklet for the weekend.  Check out will be 11:00am Saturday, but we’ll have lunch and a last worship service dismissing at 1:00pm.
